About

All the information about Dany Efic Jeep Tours: An extreme off-road experience. Go on an off-road tour in the heart of the desert! Our tours are guided by Dany Efic, a certified tour guide who specializes in experiential jeep tours in the Judean Desert, the Negev, and the Jordan. You can choose between a variety of guided tour routes suitable for everyone—families, groups, and individuals. Our tours: Jeep tour to Nahal Tzalim. Tour duration: two hours. We will set out to Nahal Tzalim to the Chavar area of the "Lashon" and learn how it was formed, where it came from, and what unique characteristics distinguish it. From there we will continue to the mouth of Nahal Tzalim, where the Dead Sea Works pumping station is located, and we will see the "corals," "pearls," and other mineral crystalline forms created by the Dead Sea. We will end the tour with a short tour in the sinkhole area—a natural phenomenon that occurs following a drop in the Dead Sea water level. Jeep tour to the Dargot Cliffs and Nahal Tamarim. Tour duration: four hours. There are two options for the tour to the Dargot Cliffs and Nahal Tamarim: • Northern route—We will drive north toward the Dargot Cliffs, and along the way we will stop for a viewpoint over the desert landscape and the Dead Sea basin—the sinkhole area, the entrance to the Judean Desert. From there, the view will continue north along the fault cliffs. During the viewpoint we will answer unique questions about the area: How do plants and animals survive in the desert? What are Nahal Tamarim and Bitumen stone deposits? Who dug the water pits in the desert? How are they built? And what is the connection to the stories of the Bible? From there we will continue on a fascinating descent toward Nahal Dargot and back to Ein Gedi. • Southern route—We will drive south on the road from Ein Gedi and enter Nahal Himer to view the asphalt seepages that characterized the area in the past, and for which the Dead Sea is also called "the Sea of Clay." From there we will continue on a fascinating drive along Nahal Sedom, when on our left is Mount Sedom, built entirely of salt, and on our right is the clay. We will climb Mount Sedom for a viewpoint over the Jordan and its treasures, and continue through the Amiaz Plain for a short walking tour in Nahal Paratzim. We will cross Nahal Ashalim and take a short break under the acacia trees, and we will view the Dead Sea Works and the potash conveyor. We will end our tour at the Cave of Sedom. Photo: lirona123.
