The North Beach promenade concentrates most of the big hotels (Royal Beach, Herods, Dan, Hilton) with direct Red Sea and lagoon access. The Almog Beach and Coral Beach area, further south, is quieter and more family-oriented, with the best diving spots. For a tighter budget, Yotam Boulevard and the back-line hotels offer a good compromise.
Expect €200-400 per night in a 4-star, €450-800 in a 5-star (Royal Beach, Herods, Setai), €130-220 in a 3-star. Peak seasons are Passover, Sukkot, Israeli school holidays and winter (many European travellers escape the cold). Summer (August) is very hot near 40°C with softer prices.
Direct flight (Arkia, Israir) in 40 minutes to Ramon Airport, 40 km north of Eilat. Transfer from Ramon: taxi ~€50, shuttle ~€10. By car, the drive from Tel Aviv takes 4-5 hours via the Dead Sea or Beersheba. Elynor Tours can combine the domestic flight with a car rental on arrival.
Most of Eilat's main hotels are kosher: Royal Beach, Herods, Dan Eilat, Leonardo Plaza, Hilton Queen of Sheba, Crowne Plaza. Traditional Shabbat meals, hotplates and hot-water urns depending on the property. The hechsher is usually the local Eilat Rabbanut — let us know if a specific mehadrin certification is required.
October-May offers a perfect climate (22-28°C, clear skies, Red Sea at 21-25°C). Summer (June-September) is very hot but dry (no humidity), with more accessible prices. Eilat is a classic destination for Sukkot and Passover holidays — book very far in advance for those periods.
