Dodds Cave

The cave is located above the Dod (David) waterfall and beneath a chain of beautiful, enchanting pools, at a small detour from the well-known trail—well worth it, with not a shadow of a doubt. Dodds Cave is a romantic place of almost its kind: a breathtaking view of the Dead Sea, pools of fresh and clear water, small waterfalls, rich vegetation, and finally the cave itself, inside which flowing water runs. There are two ways to reach the cave: to climb the steps that come out near the Dod (David) waterfall—at the first fork turn right and descend to the cave; or to descend from the direction of the Cahalite (Hasmonean) temple and the Ein Gedi spring toward Nahal Dod, and at the fork choose to go straight following the signs to Dodds Cave. The walk requires only light effort and takes about fifteen minutes in each direction, but it is an effort you will not regret.
