About

All the information about Tzofe Orit: A viewpoint over the bends of Wadi Qelt, a memorial corner in honor of Ortit, a resident of the settlement of Alon (located on the other side of the road). Ortit died at a young age from a severe illness. At the spot, instead of a bench—an olive tree that didn't survive the winds and is trying to recover; a viewpoint over Jerusalem, over the depth of the Judean Desert, and over the black road, which is so fitting for the image of "a snake on the hills." A worthwhile spot for coffee on site: the place is very special and very suitable for making coffee—sitting quietly in front of the intoxicating view. For all those who make the effort and arrive, there's a small bonus: words from a song carved into stone. Which song? You'll have to discover it yourself. Entrance from Highway 1, down to the Dead Sea, via Alon (458). When to arrive: autumn, toward sunset—the hills around turn very red and the skies above Jerusalem are stunning. Elevation: 231 m'.
