The Israeli Monkey Sanctuary - Ben Shemen Forest

About

All the information about the Israeli Monkey Sanctuary - Ben Shemen Forest The Israeli Monkey Sanctuary in the Ben Shemen Forest has been operating since 1996 to rescue and rehabilitate monkeys that were confiscated by the authorities due to inadequate holding conditions or illegal ownership, and monkeys that were released from research laboratories. Most of the sanctuary area is closed to visitors and provides the monkeys with calm places. In the part of the rescue and education center that is open to visitors, guided tours are held where you can see the monkeys up close in their living environment and learn about their lives in a setting with other monkeys. During school holidays and on holidays, special activities and play and craft areas for children are held on site. Feeding the monkeys is prohibited. Each monkey has a unique menu tailored to it and its needs; many monkeys are hunters and eat animal protein. Touching them is also prohibited. Monkeys are wild animals and must be given the respect and personal space they deserve. Entry is possible only with registration and by purchasing tickets in advance on the website.
