Ein Elroi

All the information about Ein Elroi at the beginning of the settlement's history, in the years 1936–1952: at first the spring served as a source of drinking water for the settlement and for irrigating the orchard; later, of course, it continued as well. Today the spring flows into an artificial pool that was dug in the 1960s on the initiative of Ze'ev Shorki, of the members of the Elroi moshav, and as noted on site, he was a family man who loved people, nature, and the land. Therefore some will call the place "Ze'ev Spring." In the past the pool was used as a storage pool for irrigating the nearby orchards. Around the spring you can find typical vegetation of the area and the springs, including: holy bramble (ptel kadosh), eastern plane (dolev mizrahi), silky poplar (tsefetsefa makhsifa), and an impressive and beautiful mulberry tree. From the spring, a 650-meter path leads south to the old train station in Elroi, where there is a lovely reconstruction of the Emek (Valley) Train Station of the Elroi settlement, along with exquisitely restored train cars. As of today, maintenance and renovation works are being carried out on site, but the area around the spring is accessible and still enjoyable. Between one dip and another, it is recommended to visit the Emek train restoration site adjacent to the spring. Next to the parking area, a small and delightful bicycle park was built, where riders train in technical control of their bicycles using "pumping" and generating momentum without the need for pedaling.
