About
Yeshach Cave All information about Yeshach Cave: Between the familiar routes on the "Green Mountain," all year round, there is a less well-known route leading to Yeshach Cave. Park your car in the Nahal Oren parking lot (near Junction Kela 6) and set out on the route that starts near a locked iron gate, along with a marking of the Israel Trail and a marking of the Green Trail nearby. Continue walking on the trail according to the Israel Trail markings, which are also marked as a green trail, and walk westward. A walk of about one kilometer on the gentle trail will take you to a 400-meter cliff in which there is a group of caves—small and large. The large cave is called Yeshach Cave. This is a karst cave with a height of 4 m and a depth of about 12 m. In front of it there is an ancient structure with an arch of stones. It is recommended to bring a flashlight, which will allow you to carefully peek into the rooms inside the caves. On the way to Yeshach Cave, you will encounter spectacular viewpoints: in autumn—blooming sternbergia (autumn flowers), narcissus, and saffron crocus; in winter—cyclamen, and in spring—colorful blooms. If you are looking for a place worth stopping for a coffee break or an easy picnic, then the caves area is perfect for that. The route is not shaded and is not suitable for summer. Want to keep hiking? You can continue walking along the cliff and enjoy coolers and additional caves along the way, some of which serve bats as places to live.
