The Rose Garden named after Wahal

All information about the Rose Garden named after Wahal, even before the institutions of government were built, the land was planned for the preparation of a large garden. At first, the garden, called "The President's Garden," was intended to serve as a place for closed national ceremonies, closed to the general public. But as a result of a public struggle, the garden was opened to the general public. How did the President's Garden become the Rose Garden? In 1981, David Galed, a member of the Flowers Council, was looking for a place to host the international rose exhibition. The President's Garden became the Rose Garden thanks to the contributions of Vivian and Morris Wahal, the Jerusalem Foundation, as well as the encouragement of the mayor, Teddy Kollek. While preparing the garden, a mosaic floor from the Byzantine period was found, displayed on the path leading to the Knesset.
