About
All the information about Motza Modiin: One of the sites identified with the Ben Shemen Forest is located right at the entrance to it, for those arriving from the Ben Shemen interchange. This is Motza Modiin, which also has a parking lot. At a height of 171 meters above sea level, you will find a special observation tower. Why? Because it is designed like a burning torch, as a symbol of the miracle of the Hasmonean revolt. If you go down the slope, you will reach an open-air theater. From here, the single-track routes for cyclists begin. The tower was built in 1963 and was used (and still is used) as an observation point for alerting against fires (this tower is, in fact, one of 42 such towers that were built over the years in KKL forests). From the lookout point, you can see the entire Ben Shemen Forest, the Judean Hills, and the coastal plain. Near the lookout point, an open-air amphitheater was built, which is used for cultural performances, conferences, and other events. The facilities here are open every day of the week from 8:00–16:00.
