A monument in her memory, Anne Frank, in the Sacred Forest
אנדרטה לזכרה של אנה פרנק ביער הקדושים

About
All information about the monument in her memory, Anne Frank, in the Sacred Forest, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, 2011. On that date, the KKL (Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael) inaugurated a monument in the Sacred Forest near the Cave of the Sons of the Covenant, dedicated to Anne Frank. In the monument area there is a short path, next to which signs are placed bearing quotations from Anne's famous diary and an oak tree, which Anne saw through a crack from her hiding place. This tree was her only connection to the outside world and gave her hope. Anne's statement about the chestnut tree influenced Pete Cohen, the creator of the monument. He wanted to illustrate something from Anne's world in her hiding apartment. For this purpose, he created the monument out of rusted steel, within which he formed a space designed as a small room. From this room one can view a depiction of a stylized chestnut tree, its branches spread out against an opaque wall. The monument symbolizes a glimpse of freedom, from the anguish of the hiding place where Anne was concealed. A green-marked path connects Anne Frank's monument with the monument of the Burning Scroll. Its length is three kilometers. The trail is steep, so hiking enthusiasts are advised to descend from the Burning Scroll to Anne Frank's monument.
