About

All the information about the Ramat Viewpoint in the Jerusalem Hills on Observation Post 16 is one of the observation points overlooking the road to the capital, and a historical memorial site from the War of Independence. The Ramat Viewpoint is located below Observation Post 16 on the Sheyarot Ridge on the way to Jerusalem. The viewpoint, which is not marked on the map (trail marking no. 9), looks east. The spot is shaded, has a nice bench, and is always pleasant. This is definitely a lovely place to bring a coffee kit or some kind of "poyke" and enjoy the moment. At the site you will find a moving memorial for those who fell in the battles of the War of Independence. A row of statues among the trees and explanatory signs about the course of the battles that took place here. The bench located here is exactly the place to make good coffee and sit quietly facing the view. Below you can see the road leading up to the capital, and on the lower slopes the vineyards that surround the community of Shoresh. When to go: all year round, at any time. Even at night you'll enjoy a wonderful sight thanks to the small lights of the cars climbing to the capital.
