Herzliya Park
פארק הרצליה

About
All the information about Herzliya Park Herzliya Park is one of the impressive parks in the Sharon area, attracting people every Saturday and holiday from throughout the central region. The park, connecting the two parts of Herzliya, spans 120 dunams and includes lawns, a barbecue area, a stage and a natural amphitheater, a lake, a natural winter puddle, designed drainage channels, and play facilities for toddlers, as well as play and adventure facilities for children, and more. The park enables urban rest for all ages, leisure and sports (with walking paths, a running track, and an area with fitness equipment), a picnic area, and an area that preserves the natural values existing in the area—especially the winter pond. The park's northern section is in fact a collection of paths that form Herzliya's winter puddle—the "Bassa" (a marsh in Arabic). The winter puddle is a habitat for various plants and animals, and the park developers have placed birdwatching hides for viewing birds, as well as additional viewing points. In the treetops of the park there are nest boxes used by songbirds, as well as bats of the type "white-edged mouse-eared bat," whose food consists of mosquitoes and other insects.
