About
All the information about the Haifa City Museum. The museum is located in the first Templer building in the German Colony, which served as the Templer People's House. The museum is part of the German Colony. In 2000, it underwent extensive preservation and restoration. The museum features exhibitions dealing with the history of Haifa from different periods and from various viewpoints. In addition, rotating exhibitions are presented dealing with a variety of topics: urban life, identity, pan-nationality, interculturality, and more. Today, the museum is featuring the exhibition: "Perestroika in Haifa" — a new exhibition in honor of the 30 years since the immigration from the former Soviet Union. The Haifa City Museum opens its first-of-its-kind exhibition dedicated to the history of immigration from the former Soviet Union. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Genesis Foundation. The exhibition presents the personal stories of more than half of the employees of "Museums of Haifa," former Soviet Union immigrants who came to the country starting in the 1990s. Through the fascinating human mosaic of the employees of "Museums of Haifa," the exhibition seeks to give expression to the variety of narratives that trace the personal and collective journey of immigration to Israel—from the difficulties of absorption to the changing face of Israeli society as a whole.
