Authentic Druze hospitality in the homes of Druze families in the Old City quarter of 'Usfiya. Guests are warmly welcomed by a guide from the community, who leads them through the village alleys until they reach one of the working houses included in the project. Guests are cordially invited into the "medafe," the Druze guest room. There, while sitting around the guide, they hear the fascinating story of the Druze—about the hidden religion, reincarnation, the status of women, and of course the covenant with Israel. At the end of the talk, trays filled with goodness arrive with Druze food from the authentic Druze kitchen—and as is customary among the Druze, until they say "enough," the food doesn't stop flowing. After the meal, with dessert of tea, coffee, and baklava, two artists from the village enter and play amazing music with oud and darbuka, singing songs of Umm Kulthum and Farid Al Atrash, and teaching guests the traditional dabkeh steps.. * A darbuka workshop also takes place on site, the show of Umm Jameel.
