Ein Ein Tamar

About
All information about Ein Ein Tamar: The spring's outflow produces cool water into an ancient stone structure dated to the Byzantine period and apparently used for raising edible fish as part of a larger complex of a Byzantine church whose remains were found near the spring. In the past, the pool structure was probably larger and deeper, and similar estimated facilities where fish were raised as well were found in the surrounding area and are also dated to that same period, such as Ein Bikkura in Sataf. Ein Ein Tamar is not deep enough for any meaningful immersion, but it is very suitable for soaking feet and for a routine stop today as part of a deep connection with nature. The spring itself is partially shaded, which makes it ideal on a hot day. It can and is advisable to include it as part of a complete hike on the Einot (Springs) Trail, one of the most classic routes in the Jerusalem Hills area. For those who don't want to do a full route, Ein Ein Tamar is a perfect spot to intentionally pause from everyday life and an opportunity to connect with the surrounding nature.
